This Social Haunting/Songlines project, funded by the Arts and Heritage Research Council, has allowed us to partner with Manchester Metropolitan University and groups in Rochdale to explore ways of presenting and understanding lives and communities through song, sound and art.

Phase 2 builds upon an earlier collaboration which saw ‘ghost labs’ set up in our HQ in Manchester, the historic NUM building in Barnsley, and the Pioneers Museum in Rochdale. We have seen participants from Rochdale Young Mind and Bangladeshi women produce inspiring songs and stories as they have been encouraged to research their lives.
