Intergenerational Solidarity

Friday 12 August is International Youth Day, and for 2022 the call is for 'Intergenerational solidarity - to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals'.

In 2015, the United Nations (UN) set out the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which provides a blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet. To achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) it's crucial to leverage the full potential of all generations so that no one is left behind.

As values-driven businesses, co-operatives can significantly contribute to reaching the SDGs, and the College has an interactive, online course packed full of examples of co-operatives across the world doing just this.

To celebrate International Youth Day 2022, we're making our 'Co-operatives and the Sustainable Development Goals' course, which usually costs £48, FREE! But hurry, this offer only lasts for one week.

This course will be free between 8am on Friday 12 August and 11.59pm (BST) on Friday 19 August 2022.

What are the SDGs?

Sustainable Development Goals

There are 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all developed and developing countries in a global partnership. They recognise that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth - all while tackling climate change and preserving our oceans and forests.
