The aim of this workshop is to provide an introduction to co-operatives by exploring their historical origins, including the values and principles, as well as the co-operative movement today.

Course content

During this workshop, participants will:

  • Explore the history behind co-operatives and their values and principles 
  • Examine the range of UK and international co-operative movements 
  • Describe how values and principles define co-operative identity using different types of co-operatives and consider why they are important. 
  • Identify steps participants can take in their role to develop and enhance the practical application of the co-operative values and principles 

Length of course

This is a half-day course, lasting three hours.
