Love to Learn is back, and this year it's bigger than ever! What influence has education had on your life? What is it about learning that you enjoy? Why do you think continuing to learn is so important?

Tell us in a short blog post before midnight on February 28th and you'll be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 Waterstones voucher. (terms and conditions apply, please see below).

How to enter

All you have to do is write a blog post between 250-650 words about why you love to learn and submit it via the button below. We'll publish a selection of submissions on our website throughout February.

  1. The promoter is The Co-operative College (Charity no. 1159105) whose registered office is at Holyoake House, Hanover Street, Manchester, M60 0AS
  2. The competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 years or over. Co-operative College employees,their close relatives or anyone otherwise connected with the organisation or judging of the competition is not permitted to enter.
  3. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
  4. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  5. Only one entry will be accepted per person. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified.
  6. The closing date to be eligible for one of two places on the Values and Principles course is midnight on February 7th. The closing date for entries to win the main prize of a £100 Waterstones voucher is midnight on February 28th. After this date no further entries to the competition will be accepted.
  7. We accept no responsibility for any entries not received by us, or which are delayed, due to a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure of any kind.
  8. The rules of the competition and how to enter are as follows: 

To enter our Love to Learn competition you must submit a blog of between 250-650 words based on how learning has impacted your life. All entries must be submitted via the entry form here.

9. The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by ourselves.

  1. Entries must not be, or contain anything that is illegal, offensive, defamatory or explicit. By entering the competition you confirm that the entry is your own, original piece of writing and you confirm that your submission of the entry (and the use of the entry for the purposes of clause 16) does not and will not infringe on any third party’s intellectual property rights. We do not claim any rights of ownership in your entry, but we may use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format your entry for the purposes described in clause 16.
  2. The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
  3. The prizes are as follows: Submissions before midnight on February 7th - one of two free places on our Co-operative Values and Principles Course taking place on 14th February. Main prize, available to all entrants who submit a blog before midnight on February 28th - £100 voucher for Waterstones Book Store.

The prize is as stated and no cash alternative will be offered. The prize is not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.

Winners of the two places on our Co-operative Values and Principles course will be chosen at random on February 8th and notified immediately. Only two spaces on the course are offered (one for each winner) and the prize covers the course fee only.

If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 24 hours of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.The promoter will notify the winner and provide details of how to attend the course.

Winners of the main prize of a £100 Waterstones voucher will be chosen by a cross college judging panel on March 1st 2019.

The winner of the £100 Waterstones voucher will be notified by email within 7 days of the closing date. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 7 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.The promoter will notify the winner how the voucher will be delivered.

 13. The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  1. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  2. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
  3. The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
  4. The winner’s names for both the Waterstones Voucher and Values and Principles course places will be available 28 days after their respective closing dates by emailing the following address: [email protected]

  6. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with any other organisation. You are providing your information to The Co-operative College and not to any other party.
