In the recent past we have co-supervised Doctoral students to completion with the University of Leeds and the Open University with research on women dairy farmers in co-ops in Kenya and youth co-ops in Lesotho and Uganda respectively.

Current PhD studies

Subjects our current PhD students, co-supervised with Manchester Metropolitan University, are researching include: Placemaking and the Building of Co-operative Capital: A Case Study of Contemporary Rochdale; The Making of Character: Education and the Formation of Character in the Nineteenth Century Co-operative Movement; The Visual and Material Culture of the Co-operative Movement 1844-2014 and Co-operative Schools

Finally, in partnership with the Yorkshire Heritage Consortium/University of Hull, the College is co-supervising research on The British Federation of Young Co-operators and the Woodcraft Folk.
