Who is it for?

This introductory workshop explores what co-ops are and where they come from. Case studies reveal the diverse nature of co-ops with regard to age, size and type.

What will participants learn?

In this one day workshop we will explore why shared values and principles are the basis for co-operative organisations. We will also consider the business case for values and principles as a unique aspect of a unique form of business.

At the end of the course your staff will be able to:

  • Recognise the distinctive features of a co-operative, mutual or social enterprise
  • Identify the key features of your own organisation
  • Examine the range and complexity of the UK and international co-operative movements
  • Recognise how values and principles are currently put into practice in your own organisation

How will participants learn?

Through case studies, tutor input and discussion your team will review the role, importance and contribution of value-based forms of business.
