During this training programme you’ll be immersed in the world of international co-operative development from the outset, illustrated using real life case studies and supported by a whole host of resources. By the end of the series of four webinars you will be able to… explain the diversity and reach of the global co-operative movement and how co-ops have transformed the lives of individuals across the world list similarities and differences of how co-operatives work internationally identify opportunities and challenges of international co-operative development describe the “co-operative difference” in international development and the crucial role that education plays within this How will I learn? During the interactive webinars you will learn through group activities, individual reflection and tutor led discussions. ‘Zoom’ technology allows for a participatory approach throughout the programme. Meet the team With a wealth of experience in international co-operative development, our team is well placed to highlight how co-operatives strive to build sustainable communities and transform lives across the world. Dr Sarah Alldred is the International Programme Manager at the College. With a background in Peace Studies, Sarah manages the College’s international co-operative development programmes, taking her to a whole host of different countries including Ethiopia, Malawi, Colombia, and right across Europe through our work on the Co-operatives Europe Development Platform. Dr Amanda Benson specialises in gender, agriculture, international and community development, Amanda coordinates the College research and projects to promote sustainable and inclusive development both in the UK and worldwide.
