  • Describe the importance of being able to communicate effectively as a manager or leader
  • Identify different forms of communication and when to use them
  • Understand how to use effective communication to help achieve the objectives of your organisation
  • Review how effective your organisations communication has been and develop an action plan on how to improve

How will I learn?

This workshop incorporates tutor led discussion, group activities and guidelines for specific communication methods including report writing, team briefing and meetings. There is also time to reflect upon your own communication methods and those used within your organisation to help identify how you can use the learning from the session in your role.

You may wish to complete this workshop as part of a Chartered Management Institute (CMI) qualification. For this you will be required to complete a piece of assessed work after the workshop. Full support is provided and to find out more click here.  

Meet the Tutor

Maria Franchi is a skilled trainer and facilitator with extensive experience of community and organisational development, gained during 25 years working in and with the voluntary, community, co-operative and social enterprise sector. She has worked for local and national charities and as a freelance consultant and associate trainer.

Maria uses participatory and practical methods, designed to get people working together, including accelerated learning, dialogue and open space techniques. Her experience is that people learn best when they enjoy themselves and benefit from input from other members of the group.
