This programme is made up of two workshops which can be done independently or together.

Workshop one focuses on belonging and identity and explores the importance of creating a culture of belonging and shared identity within an organisation. It also outlines the practical steps that can be taken to achieve it.

The second workshop encourages participants to to explore key questions around co-operative working practices. It focuses on the practice of communication from a values-led perspective and examines how to have effective co-operative conversations.

Who is it for?

This workshop is for anyone who:

  • Wants to develop a co-operative culture of belonging in a values-led organisation
  • Wishes to explore how the co-operative values, particularly equity and solidarity, can be enacted in their day-to-day working life

What will participants learn?

By the end of the first workshop participants will be able to:

  • Consider what we mean by belonging, what it looks like and feels like, and why is it important
  • Reflect on the impact of personal values, as well as co-operative values and principles, on working practices
  • Recognise how to enact these values in your working practices to create a sense of belonging

By the end of the second workshop participants will be able to:

  • Recognise how to work together co-operatively, to ensure all voices are heard and identities are valued
  • Understand the importance of being an ally, why it is important and how best to support allyship
  • Practice care for each other, even when we disagree

How will participants learn?

Participants will learn by taking part in discussion based activities, including reflection on co-constructed key questions aimed at supporting practical application of learning.
