About Andrea

Andrea Wilkinson is an International Development consultant with a diverse career of over 18 years conducting both academic and practitioner research and capacity building in the field of climate change adaptation, sustainable livelihoods, entrepreneurship, and inclusive economic growth, and peace and reconciliation.

She has submitted her PhD which investigates the role of Alternative Trading Organisations in creating climate resilient global production networks and is currently conducting research into Small Island Developing States at Newcastle University in her role as a UN Sustainable Development Goals and Global Challenges Research Associate. 

Andrea has been working as an Associate with us for seven years, conducting research primarily in Ethiopia and Rwanda on the role of co-operatives in peace building, sustainable livelihoods and entrepreneurship.

She leads our work on a four year capacity building project working with Tearfund, supporting subsistence farmers to add value to their crops, securing their livelihoods and working their way out of poverty.
