This Valentine's Day forget about cards and roses, we want your stories about why you love to learn!

How has education influenced your life for the better? What is it about learning that you enjoy? Why do you think continuing to learn is so important? Tell us in a short blog post and you'll be entered into a prize draw to win a £50 Waterstones voucher (terms and conditions apply, please see below).

How to enter

All you have to do is write a blog post between 250-650 words about why you love to learn and send it to [email protected]. We'll publish a selection of submissions on our website throughout February.

The competition is open until 28 February, with the winner announced within seven days of the closing date.

Terms and conditions

  1. The promoter is The Co-operative College (Charity no. 1159105) whose registered office is at Holyoake House, Hanover Street, Manchester, M60 0AS
  2. The competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 years or over except employees of The Co-operative College and their close relatives and anyone otherwise connected with the organisation or judging of the competition.
  3. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
  4. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  5. Only one entry will be accepted per person. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified.
  6. Closing date for entry will be 28th February. After this date no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
  7. We accept no responsibility for any entries not received by us, or which are delayed, due to a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure of any kind.
  8. The rules of the competition and how to enter are as follows: 

To enter our Love to Learn competition you must submit a blog of between 250-650 words based on how learning has impacted your life. All entries must be submitted to [email protected]

9. The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.

  1. Entries must not be, or contain anything that is illegal, offensive, defamatory or explicit. By entering the competition you confirm that the entry is your own, original piece of writing and you confirm that your submission of the entry (and the use of the entry for the purposes of clause 16) does not and will not infringe on any third party’s intellectual property rights. We do not claim any rights of ownership in your entry, but we may use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format your entry for the purposes described in clause 16.
  2. The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
  3. The prize is as follows: £50 voucher for Waterstones Book Store

The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prize is not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.

Winners will be chosen at random on March 1st by our Central Support Team.

The winner will be notified by email within 7 days of the closing date. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 7 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.The promoter will notify the winner when and where the prize can be collected / is delivered.

 13. The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  1. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  2. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
  3. The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
