Working with the Scottish Government’s international development department, this 'Making Agriculture a Business’ project will support some of the poorest and most marginalised groups in the Central Province.

Co-operative knowledge

We will utilise our co-operative expertise from our work in Malawi to empower women and people living with disabilities. Our training will equip local people with the knowledge they need to develop sustainable co-operative businesses. Farmers will also benefit from the partnership, with support given to diversify crops, sell more produce and engage with government.

CEO of Co-operative College, Simon Parkinson said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Christian Aid Scotland on this vital transformative project and greatly welcome the funding from the Scottish Government. Our co-operative training will empower local people to make a real difference to their lives and their community, creating co-operative businesses that will thrive for many years to come.”
