What will I learn?

By the end of the workshop you will be able to…

  • identify the importance of continual self-development and reflect on your own performance to identify personal objectives relating to your development
  • detail what needs to be done in order to realistically achieve your personal development objectives, whilst managing your workload
  • identify how to manage working relationships to help achieve your objectives
  • explain the importance of maintaining a contented ‘team’ and outline possible approaches
  • plan the resources you will require and development opportunities to support your personal professional development
  • write a personal development plan with actions to take after the workshop, identifying how and when you will evaluate it

How will I learn?

Although this is a facilitated workshop and you will be involved in tutor led discussion, much of the group and individual activities during this session will allow you to reflect upon your personal development needs and help you to write a realistic development plan for the future.


You may wish to complete this workshop as part of a Chartered Management Institute (CMI) qualification. For this you will be required to complete a piece of assessed work after the workshop. Full support is provided and to find out more click here.  


Meet the Tutor

Angela Colebrook heads up our Learning & Development team and has worked at the College for 18 years. With over 3 decades of managerial experience, Angela brings a wealth of practical experience to her role. Having worked in co-ops from a young age, a qualified and experienced trainer and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development for over 20 years, Angela is able to relate to a wide range of learners whilst keeping up to date with best practice.
