Who is it for?

Are you interested in international co-operative development and alternative models of social and economic organisation? This might well be the course for you if so.

What will I learn?

This course offers an active, peer-to-peer learning experience. By the end of the programme, participants will have:

  • Learned about the diversity and reach of the global co-operative movement
  • Learned about the similarities and differences of how co-ops work in the UK and internationally, and the opportunities and challenges posed
  • Identified key ways (through case studies) in which co-ops build a better world across communities and sectors
  • Considered and reflected upon old and new ways of building solidarity through co-operative action planning
  • Considered the role of education in building a 'co-operative difference'

How will I learn?

During the workshop you'll take part in:

  • Tutor-led discussions
  • Group activities
  • The study of case studies to identify best practice
  • Reflecting on your own experiences of membership and developing an action plan for the future
