This workshop will allow you and your organisation to identify how you are both distinct from, and part of, other organisations within the wider ‘3rd sector’.

Who is it for?

This workshop is for you if you...

  • want to learn more about the third sector in the UK
  • currently work in a co-operative and are wondering how your organisation fits in in with the third sector in the UK
  • are looking for ways to collaborate more effectively with organisations in the third sector

What will I learn?

On completion of this workshop you will be able to...

  • place your organisation in the context of the private, public and 3rd sectors.
  • describe the different types of 3rd sector groups.
  • articulate and manage your organisations unique identity as a co-operative in how it operates, and collaborates, with other 3rd sector groups.
  • understand the history and drivers on and within 3rd sector.
  • understand drivers and risks of ‘pushing’ co-operative identity over presenting your organisation as part of wider 3rd sector.
  • identify the impacts of collaborating with other 3rd sector groups
