Who is it for?

Are you looking to find out more about Co-ops in the UK? Would you like to see where the co-operative movement began? Then join us this February for a Study Visit with a difference! We'll take you on a tour of some of the fantastic co-ops that are in and around Manchester, as well as paying a visit to the Rochdale Pioneers Museum.

What will I learn?

Our three day learning tour is packed with opportunities to find out more about co-operative methodologies and see for yourself some best practice examples through visits in and around Manchester. There'll be a number of face to face workshop sessions including learning about co-ops through action research and exploring co-operative culture.

The programme includes 3 half day learning sessions, two visits to local co-ops and a trip to the Rochdale Pioneers Museum. Here you’ll discover the origins of the co-operative movement in the UK and the links between heritage and current day practices.

Not only will there be plenty of opportunity for you to network with like-minded people and co-operative specialists, we'll also provide Lunch each day and a Course Dinner on the evening of the second day.

How will I learn?

During the tour you’ll learn by taking part in:

  • Whole and sub-group discussion with practical activities
  • Visits to local co-operatives to see best practice first hand
  • Self-reflection activities to think about how you’ll apply what you’ve learned to a wider context
