This interactive online workshop outlines the science of Climate Change and the impact it is having on Society and Biodiversity.  

It highlights the massive and rapid societal change needed to keep to 1.5 degrees of temperature rise and explores and critiques actions taken by society to combat the crisis, helping participants to reflect on how they can contribute. 

Learning objectives 

On completion of this 3 hour workshop you will be able to... 

  • Explain the Greenhouse Effect, the main sources of Greenhouse Gases and that temperatures have increased more in other parts of the world than here 
  • Understand how C02 levels have been stable throughout the development of human civilisation until now 
  • Understand the concept of ‘Tipping Point’ / ‘Runaway Warming’ 
  • Describe some of the impacts Climate Change has on ecosystems 
  • Reflect on how hearing about the crisis makes you feel 
  • Describe some of the impacts on human societies and how these impacts are greater on certain groups than others 
  • Describe some of the actions taken by society to combat the crisis and the interplay between them 
  • Consider further action you and/ or your organisation can take
