Visiting the Archive

The Archive is housed within the Co-operative College premises in central Manchester. It is open to the public by appointment only Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm, with the exception of Bank Holidays and the period between Christmas and New Year.

Arrangements can sometimes be made to receive visitors at other times but, as space is limited, we have to operate an appointment only system.

If you wish to visit the Archive, please telephone 0161 246 2945/2937 or contact us by email us to book your appointment.

On your first visit to the Archive, you will be asked to complete a User Registration Form and also bring a form of identification along with you. This is usual practice in most archives for statistical and security purposes and the information will not be used for any other purposes. The information will not be passed on to any third party.

By signing the User Registration Form you agree to adhere to the Use of Archive Material rules.

Acceptable forms of ID include:

  • Bank card/credit card
  • Building Society book
  • Staff or Student ID card
  • Pension or Benefit Book
  • Post Office Savings Book
  • Driving licence
  • Passport

You can contact us by phone, email or letter.
