DEVELOPING EMPLOYEES

Everyone, whatever their role, needs up-to-date skills and knowledge so that they bring value to the business. When working in a co-operative business, they also need to ‘live’ co-operative values and principles through the way they do their work. The College is a nationally approved centre for delivering a wide range of NVQs and vocational diplomas and certificates, across a range of core co-operative business occupations. Ranging from Retail Skills, Customer Service, and Business Administration through to Funeral, Team Leading and Management, there is a nationally recognised qualification which we can either deliver in your workplace or support your trainers and assessors where you have a dedicated, internal team in place. The College is currently developing a suite of short courses aimed at developing work practices which embed co-operative values and principles in to a range of different job roles. Watch this space.

Development for Funeral Professionals

We have worked closely with representatives of the co-operative funeral sector to develop courses which aim to meet the diverse needs of the sector. These range from short courses to gain skills and knowledge in a specific area to vocational qualifications accredited by EDEXCEL. Our trainers are accomplished experts within their fields and sectors of work. We ensure that they are up-to-date with both the knowledge and detailed contextual information they need to ensure a highly relevant and thought-provoking learner experience. The range of courses falls into three segments:

IT Training: our training programme primarily focuses on the Microsoft Office suite of applications, but we also develop and deliver bespoke courses to meet specific business needs.

Social Enterprise: Training and Development

Social Enterprise: Training and Development. In association with strategic partners, the College has developed a programme of short training courses that aim to improve the business skills of managers, staff, volunteers and board members of social enterprises in the Greater Manchester area.
