Janet Simms

Head of Co-operative Learning and Development

Janet is an education professional with over thirty years experience of managing curriculum developments, both nationally and internationally. She has worked with a wide range of public, private and third sector organisations and has considerable experience of advising awarding bodies on the design and quality assurance of national and higher national qualifications and the accreditation of work-based learning programmes.

Janet has worked as a senior manager in a range of different settings, including Senior Curriculum Manager in a large College of Further Education, as Director of Operations in a national private training organisation and as Director and partner in her own company, specialising in projects linking education and training with social and economic development. Before joining the college in August 2009, Janet worked for three years as an independent consultant for the FE sector, providing quality management support and staff development.
