A bilingual version of the Co-operative College’s popular Robert Owen resource pack for KS2 and KS3 teachers has been produced for use in Welsh schools by the Wales Co-operative Centre with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The pack, which is entitled ‘Robert Owen: exploring social enterprise from the past to the future’, offers a range of activities to help schools set up and run their own activity day dedicated to Owen, who is widely regarded as the father of social enterprise and was an influence and support to early co-operative societies. The pack covers key themes such as trade unions, child labour, co-operation and fair and ethical trade.
The publication can be obtained free of charge from the Co-operative College or from the Robert Owen Museum in Owen’s birth town, Newtown in Wales.
