Following this summer’s GCSE marking fiasco, Co-operative College Principal Mervyn Wilson focuses on the improved results of a number of co-operative schools for an article in the Co-operative News, arguing that the co-operative model offers an alternative to the ‘forced academisation’ of ‘underperforming’ schools.
He states: “It is clear that co-operative trusts are securing sustainable and ongoing improvement, demonstrating that academies are not the only way to secure transformation in schools achievement.”
