Co-operative Learning and Development team enters Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Open University

The Co-operative Learning and Development Team at the Co-operative College is delighted to announce that it is entering in to a Knowledge Transfer Partnership with the Open University to develop a co-operative e-learning presence. The CL&D Team will work closely with a post-graduate Associate and academics and researchers from the Faculty of Mathematics, Computing and Technology on the project, which starts in September.

A new e-learning capability is central to the College’s strategic direction, allowing it to diversify its operations, add value to its current offer and access new learners. It will also have a significant, positive impact on the design and implementation of the College’s learning and assessment strategies.

Resources from the College’s rapidly expanding learning and development programmes will be used in two pilots for community-based learning, one using a Virtual Learning Environment and one based on a social networking model. This innovation is closely linked with the College’s ethos of learning through co-operation and collaboration and, in the United Nation’s International Year of Co-operatives, will play an integral part in developing a 21st vision and model of co-operative education that will greatly enhance the College’s work both nationally and internationally.
